The Gingerbread Express, Reindeer on the River and a Spa-liday pop-up shop, a wine tasting and more to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®

CHICAGO – November 17, 2015 – This holiday season, Trump International Hotel & Tower® Chicago invites both Chicagoans and visitors to celebrate the holidays by offering seasonal activities and holiday gift items for purchase to raise funds for Eric Trump Foundation benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®. Kicking off on Saturday, November 21, the downtown Chicago hotel – located steps from the annual BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival® – hosts its annual Reindeer on the River family-friendly celebration, followed by an evening wine tasting event in the Grand Foyer. The festive spirit continues with seasonal activities, holiday-inspired gifts for purchase and special services from The Spa at Trump offered through the end of the year.

 

Reindeer on the River and a Spa-liday Pop-Up Shop

On Saturday, November 21 from 3 to 8 p.m., the property’s annual Reindeer on the River returns to Trump Chicago and the afternoon’s special guests are sure to get you into the holiday spirit – live reindeer and Santa and Mrs. Claus! Complimentary to all visitors, the outdoor event takes place at the Riverwalk at Trump Chicago, adjacent to Michigan Avenue and accessible via both the Wrigley Building breezeway and Wabash Avenue.

This afternoon of family fun includes music, photo opportunities with the reindeer and Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as festive accessories, hot cocoa, warm cider and snacks for sale. All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

A new addition to Reindeer on the River in 2015, The Spa at Trump also introduces a pop-up Spa-liday tent on the Riverwalk from 3 to 8 p.m. A massage therapist will provide chair massages to guests – with proceeds going back to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – as well as several gift items from the spa’s fabulous retail shop available for sale. Wine, Cheese and Chocolate

The evening of Saturday, November 21, the festivities continue with a wine tasting event in the property’s majestic 16th floor Grand Foyer.

From 5 to 7:30 p.m., guests are invited to a pre-dinner sampling of wines from Trump Winery’s award-winning vineyard paired with cheese, charcuterie and chocolate. The event will close with stunning views of the  BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival® fireworks show, visible from the Grand Foyer’s floor-to-ceiling windows. Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win fantastic prizes including overnight stays, health club memberships to The Spa at Trump, brunch at the Michelin two-star Sixteen restaurant and much more!

Sweet Ride: The Gingerbread Express

Beginning Saturday, November 21, guests will be transported to a holiday wonderland in the Gingerbread Express. Open throughout the holiday season, Trump Chicago has designated one special elevator traveling up to the two Michelin-starred restaurant, Sixteen, decked in everyone’s favorite holiday indulgences – gingerbread, candy canes and more sweet treats. Created by Executive Pastry Chef Aya Fukai and team, guests who ride the Express will be greeted by the sweet aromas of the season, celebratory holiday music, and more than 1,100 gingerbread bricks made especially by the pastry team. The Gingerbread Express is sure to be the most joyful ride of the season!

 

The Holiday Spirit: Additional Donation Opportunities

The charitable spirit extends throughout the holidays at Trump Chicago. From November 21 through December 31, the property will feature a mailbox for guests to mail their letters for Santa directly to the North Pole, seasonal ornaments and toys available for purchase and donation cards to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Spa at Trump will also present Mani for a Cure, wherein fifteen percent of sales from all manicures booked will be donated to the charity.
